SERIES SELECTION
|

Immobilizers are available with three distinctly different attachment
systems, each designed for specific use and application: HG
Series "Hook-Loc/Grabber" (Jawless with tire grabber), H
& PB Series "Hook-Loc"
(Jawless), D Series (Jaw-Dome
or single jaw). |
First determine
which system is right for your application

Then follow the selection recommendations below to determine
which models of the series you selected will meet your requirement.

SELECTION RECOMMENDATIONS |

HG
Series - To properly immobilize compact to full sized automobiles,
light trucks to I ton and mobile equipment trailers with brake backing
plates and systems, with standard to over sized tires and wheels,
an average size agency should have on hand at least (1) one each:
HG-12 & 14. For smaller agencies one HG-12 will be sufficient for
most all applications.
TIP: Generally a HG-12 will fit most all applications. |

& PB Series - To properly
immobilize compact to full sized automobiles, light trucks to I
ton and mobil equipment trailers with brake backing plates, and
with standard tires and wheels, an average size agency should have
on hand at least (1) one each: H/PB-12/14. For smaller agencies
one H/PB-12 will be sufficient and fit most applications. If vehicles
with oversized tires and wheels are to be immobilized at least (1)
one each: HRV / PBRV-14 should be purchased
and on hand. Additionally if a large number of vehicles with 12"
and smaller rims are to be booted on a regular basis then at least
(1) H/PB-10 unit should be ordered and on hand. TIP: Generally
a H/PB-12 will fit most applications. |
D
Series - To properly immobilize compact to full sized automobiles,
light trucks to 1 ton and mobil equipment trailers with or without
brake backing plates or systems, with standard tires and wheels
only, an average size agency should have on hand at least (1) one
each: DS-12 / DS-14. For smaller agencies one DS-12 will be sufficient
and fit most applications. If vehicles with oversized tires and
wheels are to be immobilized at least (1) one each: HRV-14 / PB-14
should be purchased and on hand. Additionally if a large number
of vehicles with 12" and smaller rims are to be booted on a regular
basis then at least (1) DC-10 unit should be ordered and on hand.

| TIPS |
|
| 12"
& 14" domed models are primary models, 12" being predominant. 10"
models are used where there are high numbers of subcompaci autos
with small diameter wheels. Usually 12" models will suffice, giving
greater flexibility for use. For HG,
H, PB
and D Series immobilizers, the wheel
cover's diameter should not exceed the wheel's diameter, as the
dome clamps directly against the wheel or hubcap. The dome should
not clamp against the rubber of the tire. |
