| MITI-RHINO "H" SERIES VEHICLE IMMOBILIZERS |
| With little practice your MITI-RHINO Vehicle Immobilizer can be securely attached to a vehicle's wheel in 30-60 seconds or less. Bi-directional stand design provides for attachment to either the, front or rear of a wheel, left or right wheel, front or back wheel. As vehicle design may limit installation to a specific wheel your MITI-Rhino immobilizers design will provide you maximum flexibility and function. Simply turn over immobilizer to use in a different direction or to attach to a different wheel. |
| CAUTION: Make sure traffic area is clear of traffic before attempting attachment! |
| 1. Place your MITI-RHINO Immobilizer on the ground with the bolt tube facing away from the vehicle. Insert the Secur-Key into the
bolt tube, push in while rotating the key until the Secur-Bolts machined head indexes into the key. Rotate the Secur-Key counter clock-wise until you are able to fully open the inner Immobilizer jaw. Leave the key in place. 2. Check to insure that the dome will fit down flush with the wheel, wheel trim disk or hub cap. If not you may have to remove the wheel trim disk or hubcap. 3. Pick up Immobilizer with both hands, or as an alternative, place the bottom of the stand on the ground or pavement directly
in front of the wheel you wish to attach the immobilizer to. 4. While holding the Immobilizer arms open, slide the inner immobilizer arms tip (end) along the inside of the tire until you
feel the tip fall into place between the wheel and the wheels backing plate or wheel drum. Visually check or feel with fingers
to insure that the immobilizers inner arm tip is in place and engaged within the inner wheel. If the inner immobilizer arms
tip is not properly engaged or is merely resting on the tire or backing plate or other the Immobilizer cannot be properly 5. Engage outer dome against the outer wheel or hub cap as you perform the above procedure. Adjust the dome to properly center
on the wheel as you bring it into position. Note: The tension 6. When the immobilizer is properly in position hold it in place with one hand while you tighten the Secur-Bolt. Remember to turn the Secur-Bolt clock-wise until the inner immobilizer arm and outer immobilizer dome is snugly attached to the wheel. It is normal and desirable for the self centering guide located on the inner side of the outer arm to dent in the tire at point of contact, this will not damage the tire. |
| CAUT I ON; BE SURE TO TIGHTEN BOLT UNTIL DOME MAKES POSITIVE CONTACT WITH WHEEL OR HUB CAP. THE TIRE STOP LOCATED ON THE INNER SIDE OF THE OUTER ARM IS DESIGNED TO PRESS IN AT THE TIRE, DENTING IN THE FLEXIBLE RUBBER, PREVENTING SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENT OF THE IMMOBILIZER. MERELY TIGHTENING THE SECUR-BOLT UNTIL THE STOP MAKES CONTACT AGAINST THE TIRE, LEAVING A GAP BEHIND THE DOME MAY ENABLE THE IMMOBILIZER TO BE REMOVED BY DEFLATION OF THE TIRE OR BY INSERTION OF A PRY BAR. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN AS YOU MAY DAMAGE HUB CAP OR YOUR MITI-RHINO BOOT. A SNUG FIT OF THE DOME AGAINST THE WHEEL OR HUB CAP IS SUFFICIENT AND PROPER. |
| Remove Secur-Key, Insert padlock in bolt tube for additional security. Optional Padlock and Padlock Cover available to fit
your Rhino Immobilizer. Optional cover prevents use of bolt cutters on padlock shank. Creates a three tier tamper proof
locking system.
7. Fill out and attach the Immobilization Notice to the vehicle. Place notice in plain view and in a conspicuous location. 8. REMOVAL; Reverse the above procedure. |
