ATTACHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

MITI-RHINO "F" & "D" SERIES VEHICLE IMMOBILIZERS
With little practice your MITI-RHINO Vehicle Immobilizer can be securely attached to a vehicles wheel in 30-60 seconds or less. Rotational stand design provides for attachment to either the, front or rear of a wheel, left or right wheel, front or back wheel. As vehicle design may limit installation to a specific wheel your MITI-Rhino's design will provide you maximum flexibility and function. Simply
loosen stand, rotate to desired position and tighten.
CAUTION: Make sure traffic area is clear of traffic before attempting attachment!
1. Place your MITI-RHINO Immobilizer on the ground with the bolt tube facing away from the vehicle. Insert the Secur-Key into the bolt tube, push in while rotating the key until the Secur-Bolts machined head indexes into the key. Rotate the Secur-Key counter clock-wise to open the Immobilizer jaws. Leave the key in place.

2. Make sure no wheel weights are located at the point in which you will be attaching the convex shaped jaws of the immobilizer. ("D" Models inside wheel edge only, "F" Models both inside and outside wheel edges). If weights are in the way attach your Immobilizer to another wheel.

3a. "F" Models: Check to insure that the wheel cover plate will clear the wheel trim disk or hub cap. If not you may have to remove the wheel trim disk or hub cap, rarely is this necessary. It is common practice to hide the wheel trim disk or hub cap behind the immobilized wheel for reattachment when the immobilizer is removed. In some cases these items are kept in safe keeping by the immobilizing Agency or personnel.

3b. "D" Models: Check to insure that the dome will fit down flush with the wheel, wheel trim disk or hub cap.

4. Pick up Immobilizer with both hands, or as an alternative, place the bottom of the stand on the ground or pavement. Then follow steps 5 , 6 and 7 .

5. While holding the Immobilizer arms open, slide the rear jaw with index loop along the inside of the tire until you feel the formed wheel index loop fall into place inside the inner wheel rim. Visually check or feel with fingers to insure that the formed convex shaped channel jaw is in place and centered over the inner wheel rim edge. If convex jaw is not properly engaged or merely resting on the tire the Immobilizer cannot be properly installed.

6a. "F" Models: Engage outer jaw against the outer wheel rim. Note: The tension spring will help hold the jaws in place.

CAUTION
1. BEFORE ATTACHMENT: Make sure there is no oncoming traffic before attempting installation of immobilizer Boot.

2. Be sure you use the proper immobilizer for the application. Standard size, Sub Compact or RV for extra wide tires. Tractor Trailer, Semi and Truck models are also available. Refer to brochure or specification sheet for wheel size and immobilizer model required for differing applications. Feel free to call the factory or your nearest distributor if assistance is required.

3a. When using "D" Models remove light gauge hub caps or use an immobilizer with a dome wheel cover which is nearest to the diameter of the wheel being immobilized for secure installation. This will put the attachment pressure at the outer edge of the hub cap where it is the strongest.

3b. "D" Make sure inner self alignment tab (tire stop), located on inside of outer dome arm, is making contact with tire and dome is tight against wheel or hub cap.

3C. "D" Check to insure inner immobilizers arm's convex channel with index guide is securely in place and centered on inner wheel edge and not on the tire.

4a. "F" When using "F" Models check to insure immobilizers convex shaped channel jaws are firmly attached and centered onto the edges of both outer and inner vehicle rims and not merely resting on the tire. If attached to tire, simple deflation of tire or external force may provide a means for unauthorized removal.

4b. "F" Remove any trim rings or hub caps that may interfere with proper installation. If wheel weights are in the way attach the immobilizer to another wheel.

5. Keep Secur-Keys and padlock in possession of trusted personnel.

DANGER
1. There are several hinged moving parts located on the Immobilizer. instruct installers or other involved personnel of the danger of these pinch points in order to prevent personal injury. Proper handling and installation can easily be accomplished without personal injury.
MAINTENANCE
MITI-RHINO Vehicle immobilizer Boots are very durable and will give years of trouble free service if properly maintained.

1. Periodically inspect and adjust inner arm wheel index loop for proper fit and alignment of inner wheel rim channel to wheel rim edge. If loop does not have an approximate 30 degree angle away from index channel proper fit on wheel rim edge can not be achieved.

2. Occasionally or as necessary, lubricate Secur-Loc bolt with WD40 or similar lubricant.

3. Store in dry area whenever possible in order to prevent moisture accumulation and unnecessary corrosion of working parts.
