MV-1 PARKING
FEE PAYMENT COLLECTION MEANS
|
● The MV-1 allows payment by means of $1, $2, $5,
$10, $20, $50, $100, or other increments. Change can
also be limited for any and all parking fee transactions.
This unique feature allows you to discriminate between
spaces, hourly, daily, monthly, or weekly rates, and low
dollar purchases. For example, you may wish to allow a larger denomination
bill to be accepted, with higher change limit allowed for
purchase of a monthly parking permit, or other listed fee
activities. The MV-1 allows multiple selections under one
transaction, eliminating the need to re-enter like information
or swipe a credit card numerous times. Payment can also
be made by $.05, $.10, $.25, $ 1.00 coin, token (token custom),
or standard credit/debit card, as approved by your parking
office.
● A Smart Card Reader is already incorporated
into the MV-1 Terminal, expanding future payment capabilities.
The Smart Card can also be used to replace existing parking
or campus cards, providing prepaid or billable parking,
lot admittance, and with or without discounts. Inter-facing,
acceptance and recharging of proprietary third party smart
cards or mag strip cards, at the terminal, though special
programming and agreement between the vendors, enable proprietary
meter or other cards to be utilized and recharged at the terminal.
In addition, each Smart Card can be tied to a specific user
and the parking department's secret coding system, which
identifies the smart card as being an authorized system parking
card. The possibilities are limitless.
● Vouchers are also produced by the terminal,
and can be set to dispense in low or out-of-change situations,
and for the cancellation of transactions after payment
has been tendered, conserving the change supply. The
vouchers can then be used at the same terminal, or others
if networked, as cash, through the bar code reader at
a later time or date, or used for refund purposes through your parking
office's desktop validator linked to the terminal via
modem. Change is vended by one of two means: the coin acceptor/changer
which replenishes change vended from change inserted by
patrons; and the coin hopper which can easily be configured
for vending $.05, .10, .25, or $1 Susan B. Anthony coins.

MV-1 "PARKING"
SOFTWARE
|

The MV-1 software architecture is set for maximum flexibility,
growth, and to allow for future upgrades to the program
without affecting individual parking rates and rate schedules.
Over the coming years or months, as MITI adds additional
features to the software package, the later versions
of the operating software will overlay the older versions
and add new features without the need to re-enter data
or rate information. The software allows simultaneous control of
various lots, or portions of lots, with different modes of operation
such as "Pay by Space," "Pay & Display," or "Pay on Foot."
Each space can have its own rate and structure and can change
its characteristics automatically as needed for day, evening,
or event operation.
● In addition, MITI's software is "soft coded,"
allowing easily changed and custom on-screen wording
and voice messaging. English and Spanish are already
programmed into the unit, and more languages may be added.
Various functions can be enabled or disabled. MITI will
assist you in making changes, or will do it for you at a nominal
cost.
● Reports for collections can be pulled up by
date, period or type, and in any combination. Patrol
and transaction reports can be accessed directly at the
terminal or via modem. Also, maintenance and terminal
door and component access reports can be accessed readily
by modem connection, by on-screen viewing at the terminal, or by
direct link with a handheld at the unit. They can be downloaded
and printed on your host (office) computer's printer. Access
is restricted to management, attendant, or maintenance
personnel by means of Smart Card with pin number at the
terminal, or access codes for remote communication.
